Bigg Boss OTT is the digital spin-off of the hugely popular Hindi reality show Bigg Boss. “OTT” stands for Over-The-Top — meaning streaming first, more edgy content, a younger audience, more intensity, and often more hours of behind-the-scenes or unfiltered content. The format gives viewers direct access via streaming platforms (instead of or alongside TV), and has become a trend because audiences want more unscripted, raw moments. In this article, we’ll look at the show’s theme/format, then list all the winners, runner-ups, hosts (and judges if applicable), and then give short season-wise descriptions.
Show Theme / Format
Bigg Boss OTT follows much of the Bigg Boss core format but adapted for digital/streaming platforms. Key features:
- Streaming-First / Digital Platform: The show airs on platforms like Voot or JioCinema. This allows more flexibility in content, timing, sometimes live feeds, or more uncut content.
- Host & Celebrity Contestants / Influencers: Like the TV version, contestants are mostly celebrities, influencers, or well-known people. The host is usually a big name, anchoring the show, doing weekend summaries or finales.
- House, Tasks, Nominations & Evictions: Contestants live together, are isolated from the outside world, have tasks (sometimes more digital/flavor twists), nominate each other, face public / audience / digital voting for eviction. Streaming may give more frequent updates or snippets of “unseen” content. Implying more continuity and engagement.
- Prize & Format Duration: OTT seasons tend to be shorter than full TV seasons (often ~6 weeks or so) with fewer episodes/days. There’s prize money and a trophy.
- Host Changes / Twists: Hosts may change season to season. Also, wildcards, twists in nominations, and more “in-the-moment” social dynamics tend to be more emphasized. The fact that OTT allows more immediate audience feedback or streaming interactions can shift how the game plays out.

Bigg Boss OTT Season 1 (2021)
Bigg Boss OTT Season 1 premiered on 8 August 2021 on Voot, hosted by Karan Johar. The show had 13 housemates, which included influencers, TV personalities, etc. Over about 42-43 days, the format emphasized digital content, immediate reactions, and streaming interactivity alongside the usual Bigg Boss tasks and evictions. Divya Agarwal was declared the winner, beating Nishant Bhat in the finale. This season set the tone for what Bigg Boss OTT could do differently from the TV version: faster pace, rawer moments, and more digital engagement.
Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 (2023)
The second season of Bigg Boss OTT began on 17 June 2023 and concluded on 14 August 2023, with Salman Khan stepping in as the host for the OTT edition for the first time. There were 15 housemates. One of the season’s big talking points was that the winner, Elvish Yadav, was a wildcard entrant (i.e., he entered later rather than from Day 1). Abhishek Malhan was runner-up. The season had strong social media buzz, dramatic evictions, and the prize money was Rs 25 lakh plus the trophy.
Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 (2024)
Season 3 of Bigg Boss OTT began 21 June 2024 on JioCinema Premium, hosted by Anil Kapoor. There were 17 housemates, including influencers, actors, and controversial / outspoken personalities. In its proposed ~42-day span, Bigg Boss OTT 3 brought fresh twists and more visibility via OTT platform tools. Sana Makbul emerged as the winner, defeating Naezy (Naezy Sheikh) in the finale. This season strengthened the OTT format’s pull — being a shorter ride but intense in competition, social dynamics, fan loyalty, and strategy.
